These morons need to learn how to actually do some good reporting.
Read
this pathetic piece of reporting (which is similar to other reports out there). But since it takes a simple blogger to show the media how utterly stupid it is-
Let's break it down.
Here's the headline:
"Gingrich: Palin won't be future GOP leader"
Sound juicy doesn't it? well let's read a little further.
"Gingrich (R-Ga.) is batting down the hype that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin heads into 2012"
Except it's not just Gingrich batting down the hype.
Palin did the HER OWN DAMN SELF!!! Don't believe me? Watch the video below. Oh it gets better.
"Gingrich, an architect of the Republican revolution of 1994, took Palin down a notch, asserting that she would not become the party’s leader."
Ok. Let's compare that to what Gingrich actually said.
“I think that she is going to be a significant player,” said Gingrich during an interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation”. “But she’s going to be one of 20 or 30 significant players. She’s not going to be the de facto leader.”
You get that.
Palin's still a player, but she is not the
de facto leader. Simple. The party gets to decide that in 2011. He didn't "take her down a notch". In fact it's hard to take people down from a
title that they have not claimed. In fact let's look at what she actually said during the Republican Governor's Association.
"This group is going to be looked to and looked at, for leadership that perhaps had been lacking in Congress and Washington DC"
"This group". Not ME. But this group. The collective "we".
"I, like all of our governor's, we're focused on the future. And the future, for us, is not that 2012 Presidential race. It's next year and our next budgets."
Did you hear that? She's not worried about 2012. But again, notice the collective "we" she keeps talking about.
"The media likes to focus on us as individuals, but the Republican Governor's Association is a group committed to Governors who know that only we, by working together, can bring back the change that has been so desired by the American public.... I'm proud to be a part of this team."
Again. Do you notice the collective "we". She specifically takes away the notion of focusing on the individual and stresses the group. She's proud of the group.
Now they one thing I noticed on
Face the Nation this past Sunday, is that
Jindal and Gingrich are echoing this same sentiment. The reality is that the new leadership of the Republican party is joining together as a united front. They seem to be shifting their focus to populism. The Democrats and the old Republican guard are scared
shitless. Because the truth of the matter is that many of the Republican governors are doing a fantastic job in their respective states. When you take this into account of a
new poll saying that many Americans feel as though their values are under attack and nearly half of them think the media is pushing the message, it doesn't look good for the media or the Democrats. If this group can coalesce around a populist message and talk directly to the people, they can easily rid their party of the unnecessary politicians and unseat the Democrats in 2010 and 2012.
All of this "
Palin is a diva crap" is nothing but an attempt to sow discord amongst the new force of the Republican party. And frankly I think the media will fail. I would love to see her run, but that's up to her and her party in the future.
